If it is a 409 original heavy duty truck engine.....it will be more than up to the task of low rpm.....high torque tractor usage in it's original configuration !!
It should make more torque at idle than the 4 could ever dream of! Super sanitary installation like all of your work!
I love it, I spent a few hours on a stock Ford 9N back in the late 50's and early 60's, there is a soft spot in my heart for that tractor
I got a stock 9n in the back yard. Looked at the old Red Rock V8 adapter kit when I rebuilt the stock flat 4. Nice job!
They used to sell a kit to put flatheads in them and they broke all kinds of parts so why a 409 just pot it in a 60s Chevy car.
I think Huck might have done the first conversions, both 6 and v8 ford engines. This was done not for pulling ability but for PTO power increase to run the bigger combine/bailing machines. My friend's father had one with a 6.
Funk Bros. out in Nebraska and Kansas did many of the early power upgrade kits with flathead V/8 or flathead six Ford or ohv Ford six with a kit to raise up the hood if I remember correctly.
Nice here my ford 8n i put a lincoln v12 in my ford 8n and it has sherman transmission and 1934 front wire wheels
You guys have it going on! I knew gear heads and hot rodders soup up damn near anything that has a motor and some that don’t LOL but this is insane! I guess you can say that this is traditional tractor pulling in the early stages
