I'm running lake pipes on my 47 ford, no running boards, but that leaves a big ugly hole under the door. What are some not traditional methods of doing this? Thinking about just chopping up the old crusty running boards and tucking them up under the door.
I bent up some 10 gauge and welded the vertical leg to the rocker box and trimmed the horizontal leg to match the door shape. I bent some 18 gauge channels and shrunk the outer one to match the outer edge and welded them to the bottom of the 10 gauge. Later cut some vinyl stair runner to act as mats. With your pipes there the formed angle would probably suffice.
