41-48 Ford toeboard screws...

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by 4t64rd, Oct 24, 2008.

  1. I thought I would bolt down the toeboard in my 46 this weekend, and I remembered I had to grind most of the heads of the screws off to get them out... anybody using the stock toeboard? and what did you use to hold it down/seal it up?

For those who dont know, there are holes around the outside, inside of a lip area that goes around the outside. The holes are about 5/8". The holes in the floorboard have holes for about #12 sheetmetal screws. the original sheet metal screws had fender washers with a stepped washer under them.

I got the stock stuff from Mac's for my '48. They have the floor seal and if you look in the 'auto hardware supply' section you'll see that they offer both 1/4"x1/2" and #8x3/8" panhead sheemetal screws.

I just got screws for my 39 at the hardware store, also got stainless rings to go with them. The screws are about #12x1-1/2" all in stainless. Hope this helps you.
