Normbc9, that Buick you folks have is awesome. Love these cars. I didn't realize that inline 8 was 320 c.i. and that the dual carbs were a standard item, cool! Good luck gettin those crates home brother! ~sololobo~

There were three Buick straight eights. The 243, 263 and 320. All had a Century option if on a Special Order or installed in the labeled Century cars. They also had split factory exhaust manifolds too.

A Buick Century was the first factory muscle car. 320 engine in series 40 body with longer front fenders to accomidate longer engine. Twin carbs were standard in '41 I believe. Never saw a '41 without them.

I believe there were quite a few other displacements of the straight 8 Buick. I know for sure that there were both 230 and 273 ci variants, as well as a giant 345 ci in the early 30's. The 248, 263 and 320 are the most well known, as they were the latest and longest produced versions. I'm not aware of a 243 ci version, but I'm not much of a Buick historian.

Let me know if you decide to sell them or pass on them, I'd like them whole. Are they in Denton?

Not longer front fenders, the actual body was longer for cars with the 320, at least on the 41. The space between the door and front fender is longer, easily seen in pictures. Already posted a picture of my 41 century with a single carb, duals are not standard from what I have read.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. At well conducted and advertised auctions the '41 Buicks are popular. Especially if they have the Century dual carbureted engine.
