yeah,,,this is the car,,,,,i wanted to stay really focused on this project,,,,i'm hoping to have all the metalwork done and have it in primer by the spring,,,i think if i keep at it, that would be realistic,,,trust me it was REAL hard giving up that plymouth!

  6. Please tell me your going to leave it at that ride height.

I'll cry if you say its gonna have air bags and sit it on its sills!

  9. Wow! At this rate, HAMB members are going to have the biggest collection of taildraggers in the world!

Nice work Kustom7777! She's already a beauty! Can't wait to see her finished!

  10. Man, that's beeyooteefull. Coachwork customs are my favorites. Very tasteful. So…black or deep maroon shiny paint? '53 sombreros? I like the all Caddy theme. It SCREAMS late '40s early '50s Valley Custom. PLEASE keep us updated on this car. A candidate for the HAMB Concourse 'd Elegance.

Man, now I'm going to put some Jay McShann on the player. Seeing your 'dragger makes me need it.

Fantastic!!!!. I love every bit of it.
This one is so much period perfect for the mid to late 40's customs. One thing they sure did not have in those days where the drip rails though. They all shaved them of during the chop. But I know they can be practical.

Are you still going for the full fade away fenders?

    Keep us posted

and my condolances on the snow outside. we have it here too, i share your pain....

  15. Nice. What are you using rear bumper-wise? You know the saying "Less is more."?
Glad you are keeping the drip rail. I find them useful myself.

    Jim,

You really are doing an awesome job on this car. It is so great to see what you have been talking about coming to life. All those hours you have spent drawing and staring at the car sure paid off. It looks fabulous !!!!! I knew you could do it.

please tell me you're going to leave the trunk hinges on the car, they add a certain air of sophistication. chrome them to show them off.

and when are we gonna see pictures of this thing actually dragging the tail anyway? :D

I saw the Caddy when you were testing the art of posting pictures. I had to save the pic and change my screen saver. I was getting ready to send out
a pm to ask if it was a old Barris Kustom. Great Job, and keep us posted on
    the front end.

    That is one KOOL kustom

    Happy Trails,

    Mick

    Jim,

When your Caddy gets in the magazines, please make sure that I get credit for making the cuts on the driverside door! Haha

Maybe I'll see you at Mark's shop this weekend. I got clearance from the social director to play on both Saturday and Sunday.

Looks good,REAL GOOD!There is one thing though, that "bothers" me and it is fenderskirts. This is just my opinion, you don't have to listen to me.
I think that 48-49 Caddy type flush mount skirts would fit better with new fender lines.Or maybe not. :)

thanks,,,,that means a lot,,,really. I have really obsessed over the car ever since i bought it,,,you have given me lots of encourgement and never complained when i tended to go on and on about what i wanted to do to the car,,,,,i know we missed a lot of fun things this summer because i sold the ford, but this year we will definitely make up for it.....lytv......Kustom7777
