It's possible i've done it. Think i made a hook and kept at it rebending till i got it. Or is it rusted?
Put it on stands, then run a heavy wire or rod up through the gravel pan to pop it. You know where to pry on it, right ?
Here are a couple pictures of a 41 chevy hood latch that might help, first picture shows the latch from the top, the red arrow shows where the hood release cable would hook up. The second picture shows the hood latch from the bottom, the red arrow is pointing at the primary latch release, unfortunately it looks like the area where the hood latch cable connects is boxed in. The third photo shows the latch in the car, the red arrow shows the hood release cable. Your going to have to crawl under the car and attempt to unlatch it from the bottom, a long narrow prybar, hook tool or screwdriver can be used to pry the primary latch release towards the rear of the car, if the cars been sitting a while you might need someone on the top to wiggle the hood to help the striker pop free, once the primary latch is released there should be enough room to release the secondary catch by hand. Now would also be a good opportunity to lubricate the hinges and latch to prevent future issues.
I have that latch piece, for sale and radiator support. Let me know if you are interested, I'll make you a deal! thx, Jim
