Hows it going guys n gals!
i am currently working on a 1941 ford pickup in the process of boxing off my frame rails and i am trying to get my frame at the ride height she'll be at so i can start setting up my suspension and other fun stuff! i know the style of tires/wheels i want to run on my truck and i have the front suspension on the way(superride II coilover from Heidts). Rear is a progressive automotive triangulated 4 link mounted up to a ford 9" (1957-59) i believe to be 52 1/4 inches inside flange to inside flange. i believe this is the narrowest rearend ford made without chopping it up. i know my fenders are going to limit what size and width of tires i can run without modification. wheel size are 16" in rear with 15" in the front.(smoothie or hotrod steel wheels) i am not sure which yet. i want there to be a slight rake from back to front. i dont know what size tires are to big or to small. i am looking at 255/70r16 for the rears and not sure what to go with in the front.

    My questions are-
    1. Will my 9" be a good width to use and fit under my frame without fender tire clearance issues.
    2. Whats some good tire sizes to use on the fat fendered fords?

i am going to post some picks of 41's so you can see the stance i want my truck to be! thanks for any posts, oppinions, or comments yall will provide!

a little info about the powerplant: 351w stroked out to a 408w (HP range 500-550) c6 ****** sent back to a ford 9" as listed above.

With the right backspace you rear tire should work out ok. They are a little tall for my tases though, which means to get that particular rake you'll have to go a nit lower with the suspension in the rear. My favorite rear tire/wheel under these trucks is still a 235/75-15 or in bias ply 8.20-15. Just get everything together enough for mock up and measure what you'll need for bacspace. I'll make a prediction that it will be in the 3"-3 1/2" range.
