Is this the correct seat for a 1941 Ford business coupe? The back flips up instead of forward. It’s basically impossible to access the area behind the seat. If not what could it be from? I need to know before I post it for sale. I’m installing a split back out of a 46 Ford.
That does help. From what I’ve learned some 41 parts were more like the 39 and 40’s but sometimes they were more like the 42-48’s.
I had one guy that has had his 41 in his family since it was new told me this seat was correct, but another guy that has owned multiple 41’s said that all of his had the split back that leans forward. ♂️ Hopefully someone here can give me a confident answer.
I’m no expert and suspect someone else here is, but I’m pretty sure that is a correct seat for a business coupe. Seems both styles were used depending on access to back seat or not.
I had a 51 International that had a seat that hinged up like that too. Maybe I’ll post a picture of the bottom side once I pull it to see if that helps anyone confirm.
When did the seat frames become tubular affairs and not the plywood sides and sheetmetal base pan? Chris
My 41 business coupe has the flip up seat. I bought this car a year and a half ago. I love the car but didn't love the 50's hot rod style (stock running gear and dual exhaust without mufflers) . I sold the 90hp V8 and rest of running gear. Installed a spring kit and 9" rearend. Getting one of my 400hp circle track engines ready. (retired after 26 years of racing) . I like the seat but have older buckets from an Impala SS I plan on installing. Just about to list my seat from the car on the HAMB . Don't plan on selling car so I am doing it up my style. Still going to run old style wheels though .
