I I feel your pain. I got my 1948 2 door in early 70s. Drove it in stock form till 1990. I decided on a more streetable road car I could drive anywhere. Did all the work except paint and interior myself. For painting I decided on a well known area shop for doing great work. Owner of the shop told me up front he was an insurance repair facility first and a custom painter second and could take up to 3 years. Well, he was almost right on time estimate. But after getting the car and enjoying it as a streetable car ready to drive anywhere I have never looked back.
Never looking back...only forward! We had a fun drive today...so clear and windy in Socal today. Seal beach is 15 minutes away...I learned to surf there and my kid is following in my footsteps....
Seal beach was in the movie American Sniper...the pier is wood and has been rebuilt a few times due to huge surf knocking down a few sections some years ago.
Cut the tail pipes off and will be installing the ford stainless deverters for a cleaner look. Added the 42 deck lid handle trim and fabbed up a air cleaner using a 14" hi hat cymbal from the 40's I got from my uncle back in the 80's. Added the club plaque I designed and had casted in honor of my team. Installed the YOM plate...might switch the plate down to the bumper and plaque up top. Added this little guy too...9 weeks old Hurley
