    Thank you laidout53.

Thank you Luke. Even though today was spent doing a lot of adjusting the front of the car due to the fact that my radiator support was slightly off centered by 8mm, it wasn't worthy to take any pics. But did get the inner fender partly mounted though.:D More tomorrow.

Thank you Finn! A spark plug change will be able to be performed without a problem, but it's going to be tight though.

Maybe I'll see you in februari at the show in Helsinki!

Thank you moparob. I hope to get the driver side inner fender done tomorrow. I hope I said, no promises.:D

Could you make a removable access panel on the inner fender so you can get the valve cover off without taking the whole front end apart? If you plan for serviceability you probably will never need it, if you don't you can work for any auto manufacturer in the world, they have guys that specialize in putting panels and braces exactly where your hand needs to be to work on it. And those guys do their jobs VERY well I might add.

Thank you for the advise murfman. I'm now making it in such a way that I'll be able to remove the inner panel fairly easy by jacking up the front and remove the wheel. Hopefully I won't be doing this too often.....

And I suppose all I have to do is send you the 392?:D:D:D

After a frustrating day yesterday, where I literally spent hours aligning the nose of the car as it was 8mm off center. Re-positioned the radiator support and clamped it down tight. As a result of this change in position, a few alterations to the inner fender had to be made.

Started today mounting it, working out a few new lines, a space for the wheel to turn into and creating a slight curve on the bottom of the panel. I also opted to create a straight line from the suspension to the bottom of the firewall. It does create a bigger gap, showing part of the headers, but a least it will increase the airflow even further.

After a lot of hammering, welding, grinding and test fitting, it's almost done now. Maybe tomorrow I can finish it off: Creating more curvature around the louvers and fabricate and hammer the area near the firewall. Good thing is, the passenger side will be done twice as fast.:D

Thanks BrerHair. I'm probably the only fool in the world that will spend 20-25 hours on an inner fender, but hey, it's going to look good!:D

  21. The inner fenders are looking great Eric. I just have one comment and this comes only from watching other builds such as Kool Kemp's 47 Ford, what about using some 1/4 inch round rod at the bottom of your inner fenders? I see you've spent time rolling the lip for strength and looks and the round rod would help and eliminate the sharp edge of the panel.

Yes, they're 15". Selling them? Maybe, don't know yet. I'll let you know first.

Just as I was doing the last fitting of the inner fender, the doorbell rang. Mail! That means packages! Finally got my '51 Plymouth hubcaps from Rog. (LuckyFordGuy here on the Hamb). Had to fit one straight away off course, a tight fit, but it will work. The caps do need a little work (dents) and a good polish, but I can use them. I like these definitely better than the Cad caps I initially intended to use.:D

Nice, I'm using those plymouth caps on my 46 Chevy.
I want 47-52 Cadillac sombreros, but this is all I can afford right now :)

Those look much better than the 57 Caddy hubcaps.

Thank you David, your comments are appreciated. I had considered using a round rod, but where the fender touches the firewall and the radiator support, it had to be flat. Therefore I thought a rounded bottom would look a little out of place. (also welded every corner for strength.) I agree on the sharp edge. Maybe I'll use some rubber or something else to cover it during the final build up. Thank you again for thinking along!

Thank you 1951Streamliner. I also like the Cad sombreros, but like to keep the Mopar theme going at the same time.

    You're completely right my friend!

  29. The Plymouth caps are way better than the Cad's IMO. Nice attention to detail on those inner fender panels.

Finished off one inner fender! Yes! (I won't tell you that I first spent 4 hours of fitting/hammer/welding/grinding/etc this morning:eek:). Sandpapered it and gave one side a coat of primer. Painting the other side tomorrow and then it's on to the passenger side inner fender next week. I should have that done in half the time.:D:D:D
