The right front fender is now mounted and final sanding on it is nearly finished. Then there's only the hood and grill left to do. The end is near!

 

Eric, I'm not sure who's more excited about this, you or all of us watching along! Probably BOTH!!!

I haven't checked in for awhile now but I'm glad to see it's coming around.

 

I might have missed it but on the front apron, was it trimmed to meet with the fenders or were the fenders lengthened to match the front?

As you can see on this picture from a while back, the apron/grill has been trimmed to get a better flow.

 

This thread is like a fine wine, slow n smooth, as opposed to cheap whiskey, that's quick n rough.

Ive learnt to savour the updates, one taste at a time, anticipating the end result, which should be a happy drunkin pleasure.

 

Been busy & haven't been on here much over the last year, I'm always drawn to this thread! Great work as usual!

The guys have been busy sanding down the whole body and the right front fender is now completely done as well. Looks like the first initial paint work will be done this week. (with a bit of luck!)

So am I Jochen! No progress last week, so no pics. Working on the hood this week.

 

The waiting is one of the worst parts...and the doing it all over again, in the breaking in phase ( after a new stronger generator, my airride controll system and sensors are toast...it's never done ).
I keep my fingers crossed and can't wait to see your progress.

Considering the guys at the bodyshop have been extremely busy (with other cars, not mine!), I decided to continue on while I wait another week. Just received the Dynamat Extreme from the mailman, so it was time to get to work! First cleaned the whole trunk area thoroughly before getting stuck into it.

 

And......5 hours later......this is the result. I'm really happy the way it turned out!

 

Going to start on the floor tomorrow, can't wait. Used 6 sheets of the Dynamat so far, and with 12 left, I hope I'll have enough to finish the rest. Time will tell.

 

Even if you have to buy more, make sure you do the inside of the roof. It made a HUGE difference in my car, especially because it is black, both in sound and in heat transfer. I did inside the doors and inner firewall. The doors make that satisfying "thunk" sound now instead of the tinny rattle.

 

I agree with Smokeybear, be sure to put the dynamat on the roof, firewall and doors.

The idea is indeed to do everything......every square inch will be covered. I ordered an other 2 bulk packs yesterday, making it a total of 4. Should be enough......

 

Nearly finished the rear area yesterday.......just another hour and it will also be done. More next week!

 

Only the area on the left still needs doing. Just in case you're wondering.....yes, it is cramped in there.

Dynamat is very good Stuff , i used it for my Plymouth 1938 Coupe too .
It takes 3 Weeks to cover the whole Body inside .
I sealed the Gaps between the sheets with no corrosive Body PU Sealant too , because i am very afraid about Water inside the Car .
I hope it is OK to show Pic`s of my Project , so You can see the Sealant .

I myself have just finished the left hand side wheel well and completed the driver door. I've started on the other door, but ran out of Dynamat. 2 new boxes should be arriving in the coming days.
