I'll be running a pedal/booster assembly from Kugel Components running at 90 degrees, so it will stay under dash and not into the engine bay. I believe its a booster from a corvette with dual reservoir. Running Wilwood 12 inch ventilated and cross drilled discs on all four corners with Wilwood calipers.

Thanks octobeak, getting the chassis back in the garage makes it a lot easier for me. Hope to get my mig welder up and running tomorrow and do some welding this week.

Got the chassis back in the garage......now it's time to clean up all the other stuff surrounding it, giving me a bit more room.

Got back to work on the car again today. I needed to strengthen the hat shelf on the drivers side. This space was originally used for the spare tire. Started off by replicating the two uprights which are on the passenger side. Then fabricated the lower horizontal piece. This actually came out so good, that I'm now thinking of making one for the other side as well........The last pic is where it is loosely positioned in place, just to give you an idea.

Thanks Hivolt5.0! Hope to get my mig welding machine up and running the next few days, so I can start the last welding on my chassis in the garage. And working on the body again on thursday at Martin's shop. Things are moving along but never as fast as I want it to. Patience.....patience.....

  13. I understand about time. Been helping a buddy work on his '50 Ford F1 but we only get 2 to 2.5 hours a night for three maybe four nights a week. Hard to get much done, but we're getting there.

It just seems that everytime I work on my car, the time appears to be going twice as fast. This then also means it's taking me twice as long than initially planned. It's amazing how much think time goes into fabrication, this is something that surprises me often. Good luck with the 50 Ford!

Man I know what you mean about patience. I just bought a '51 Ford F1 and I want to get welding on it yesterday, but that work and wife thing keeps getting in the way.:(:D

I'm lucky to have a wife who understands my hobby. Even though time can be an issue at times, I try to work on my car whenever I can, in order to prevent it from becoming a build that will take years to complete.

I wanted the car to sit even lower in the back, so I moved the air rides to its lowest position. Considering I needed to change the mounts of the lower parallel bars of the suspension, I cut through the welds. I've decided to turn them upside down, which therefore will require boxing the top and cutting a piece out of the bottom, so I still have access to the bars from below for adjustment. While I had the grinder out, I got rid of some big old welds on the bar in front of the present mounts.

Today I fabricated the passenger side panel, located behing the bench seat. I cut out the original piece and started to clean up the old spot welds. Behind this panel I'm planning on placing the battery, for which I'll make a tray which will sink in the floor about an inch. Tacked the drivers side supports in place, with final adjustment to be done next time.

Nearly forgot to post this. My buddy Martin worked a bit on my car last weekend while I had to work. He finished fabricating and welding up the drip rail/gutter for the trunk. Came out looking nice!

How cool is this? A friend of mine who runs a website, used my car for a quiz. Check out prewarcar.com, "what is it ? #296". There's also a lot of other cool stuff on there too.

Final welding was done on the drivers side panel. I actually jacked up the sheet metal slightly from below to create a good and sturdy weld. Then made a battery box. The battery will be sunk about 1 inch into the floor. Welded it all up and ground it all.
