Nope. That's why I'm going to lower it all by an inch and a half. Then with the back angled, there should be enough distance between my head and the roof.

Thanks Plung for the positive comments. Up until now it's been a great experience and I suppose when you enjoy fabricating things, it just gets easier as time goes by. As for TRJ......would be fantastic if they'll have me.

I couldn't agree more. If any car deserves a shot in the calender this one would be it.

Shortened the legs on both frames and now the bench seat is at the right height. I fit and so does the missus. Took the frames to my buddy Jaap to weld some feet to the legs, so I can bolt them to the body and the weight will be distributed better.

lookin good, nice work on your seat risers. Are you going to fabricate some kind of wrap around cover to hide your seat risers?

Thanks plmczy. The risers will be covered, with leather probably. I would like it to follow the contour of the seat, in some way or other. I'm sure my upholserer has a solution on how to achieve this. I will also give it some thought.

Hey this project is looking a bit special, Nice to meet you today Eric. Speak soon.

  14. Car's coming together great Eric!
Exterior would also look great in a very dark purple tint instead of the greyish/black... Much more appealing color for magazine and calender shoots too...:)

Thanks Dutch Courage. I've thought hard about the color the last few months, and have come to the conclusion that I love black. Perhaps a boring color to some, but I like the fact that it will then be noticed by shape/sound, rather than color. This combined with an off white or tan or cognac colored interior, hopefully will make it a stylish combination.

Thanks Steve! It was good meeting up with you too. Steve is one great fabricator and really took his time to show us around his shop. Here are a couple of pics in front of one cool Willy's. This is going to be one awesome car when it's finished guys.

Drove around town this morning for a while looking for a sheet of rubber. Finally found some 4mm to use for underneath the seat frame. Cut it in exact pieces and drilled holes through the new metal base, rubber and floor. Started mounting the driver side frame but ran out of time. Continueing tomorrow.

Unfortunately it took me a little longer than expected to mount the passenger side frame, but got it to fit and bolted everything down. Now I can pull some serious g forces without worrying.:D

Next on the list was to align the steering wheel/column(with wire and rope hahaha), while trying to figure out how to make a bracket for the column drop. I did find a way however to not use an extra Borgeson coupling......I'm going to tilt the rack and pinion slightly so the linkage can move freely under the engine mount. More tomorrow!
