Trust me n847, there will be no bondo between the grill and the fenders. I'm sure I've stated it somewhere before, but the intention is to use less than 1mm of bondo on the whole car. I think they call it skinning.

Thank you for the kind words Hogman, it is appreciated!

Fantastic build I have been fallowing from the beginning.

Are you planning to keep the ABS Plastic radiator fan shroud?
    <O:p</O:p
All that work and detail everywhere throughout the car it all flows so well…
    <O:p</O:p
For whatever reason I keep getting distracted by the fan shroud, I know it is not very visible and most people probably would not even give it a second though but to my eye it seems to break away from the overall theme of your vision.

Thanks so much for sharing your experience and enthusiasm<O:p</O:p

I would give up my coupe and my 51 for a Plymouth like this one. It's a very clean looking car I like...

Thank you for your comments and thought MobilDave. The fan shroud I have installed has an electric fan built in for maximum flow and cooling. Even though at the moment it does not have a great priority, I have been thinking of painting it or creating an extra piece of metal which would enclose it as a whole. Perhaps someone here on the Hamb can come up with an even better idea? Thank you once again for your input and I'm glad you're enjoying the build.

Thank you for the comments E HANSEN13. Maybe it's time to sell a few cars and start building. If I can do it...........

Started a couple of days ago and finally completed reading your build so far, best read I have had in a long time, love the car. Wish I had started a couple of weeks ago as you drove right pass my house ( I live in Temecula) and would like to meet you. The orange car from the Good Guys show did the paint have flake in it?

Thank you Kevin. lt looks like we missed each other by a few weeks indeed.....Loved Temecula btw!

From what I can recall, the orange Plymouth had a very fine metallic in it. Glad you like the build!

    Hello Eric,

I'm just catching up on your build, very nice indeed! What radiator did you go with, it looks close to the original design? I can see that my build will be taking more time than I expected based upon your efforts.LOL

I'm wondering if the abs part could be duplicated in sheet metal or maybe aluminum? I'd bet a competent metalworking guy could duplicate it. Better yet, why not come up with your own design Eric? You've accomplished so much to this point I'd bet YOU could do it.

Thank you Glenn! The radiator is a direct replacement/fit from Walker, able to handle the expected horsepower. My build has been going steady, (sometimes a little tooooo slow for my liking), but the key is planning and patience. Perhaps persistence fits in there too somewhere.:D Good luck with your build. (looking forward to some more progresss reports!)

Well, just got news that my welding machine is ready, so I'll be picking that up soon. Meanwhile, I've been searching a few junkyards here in the area, and found the arm support I was looking for. It's the backseat out of a Merc C class, with all the brackets I require. I will need to weld in 2 vertical pieces on the bench seat frame so i can mount it. Happy with the find. (plus I can use the rest of the backing to lay on while I'm under the car!:D:D:D)

Great find, you can make that European quality work for sure. How are you going to do the upholstery? Still looking at this thread every couple of days and absolutely love what your doing. keep it up!

You have a few good thoughts there OahuEli, but at the moment I'm going to leave it as it is. If it is going to start irritating me during the build I may just fabricate something......just not now.

You'll have that armrest intergrated in your bench seat in no time. Still looking very cool there Eric. At least now you can start welding again. I know how lost i am without mine.

Just got back from my journeys across Europe and met up with Carsten (40two here on the Hamb) in Hamburg, Germany. He took me to his great garage and showed me his beautiful 42 Pontiac. This car has a stock 8 in line and is already an awesome car. Carsten is a great guy, taking his time to show me the car and explaining what he's done and what the future plans are. Thank you, and hope to meet up again this summer for that barbeque!
