I took the head off the 61 Ranchero engine I got and it's stroke looks to be closer to 2.94" than 2.5", so it be a 170. I need to get a crankshaft bolt to try turning it over. I would've used 144 cubic inches of power anyway, but what the hay.
Hi Sgtlethargic. Toymaker sure made a 144 run just fine so good luck with that 170 falcon motor. Those other left coast cars need some company. I think that the okie outlaw went to San Francisco.
Different strokes. That's the fun of this. Find an engine and build around it. Them Falcon engines would take a lot of abuse and come back for more. Had a buddy back in the mid '60s who had a Falcon convert with the 6 and a four speed. Fun car!
Hi Toymaker! Have you done a burnout with the two carbs yet? Tell us about it. After all this is the siber bench race season. Joe
We made a run in front of the house and it seems to have a little more beans. Lee put her in 2nd and hammered it, smoked them a little and picked right up . Waiting 'til April to see how it runs on the track!
Rocky & Lee, I have a little something I've been fiddling with on the side. I think you'll like it. See you in April.
****,, Don't you even dare put that 6-71 on that poor little lean'n tower of power..You guys said I couldn't run my Enderle set up...LOL.
Sounds good to me, build it. Rocky & Lee's tach's out pretty well, I'll bet the 170 would too. ps. No gentlemen, this something ain't for me, it's for the "Herd".
