I am having issues with some rocker arms on a 440. I got a set of aftermarket rocker arms for my 440 Mopar and they seem to be a little short. It looks like they are a little short on the valve tip end. Does anyone out there have a set of 440 rockers that they could measure and let me know the distance between the center of the rocker shaft and the center of the roller tip pin? Thanks in advance, Bill
Can't imagine why they would be too short, other than a severe geometry problem. Is there any way they sent you the wrong ones? Most of my experience is with B/RB engines, but is there any possibility that you have small block rockers? I thought the shaft was the same diameter, and the rockers were shorter. It's also possible that I don't have a clue.
Which 440" MOPAR pre-'76 or the one built for them after the GM-Ford financial save of '77? They are vastly different. But MOPAR continued to furnish the California Highway Patrol with 1,000 new 440's every year until 1988. All were I-H manufactured engines. Check on this and you may have the I-H rockers. Their engine was really known as a 446. Normbc9
