Talking with a bud in the pub tonight, and the steering box on his 46 Fargo is worn out. His dad bought it new, and ~30 years ago he put a 350 (!) in it. He wants to keep the stock straight axle, just make a good driver out of it. Any clues, hints, exchange info, etc?
Check out Power Wagons. There is a military supply outfit in the states that deals with this stuff. Also get onto the 39-47Dodge group at Yahoo groups; they are a wealth of info. I have a '42 FARGO 1/2 ton p/u.
I have a steering box out of a 46 dodge pickup which I believe will fit the fargo. let me know if he is interested and I'll send picts and casting #S etc.
