I'm starting to piece a tudor together and trying to decide on what ****** to run behind the small block chevy. Looking at the different suppliers products I see nothing for overdrive ******s, everything recommends 350 turbo, powerglide, or stick. What does everybody do to run an overdrive? Is Ch***is Engineering's bolt on mustang ll crossmember the way to go for front suspension?
It depends on what you intend to use the car for I run a 700r4 but I wanted the overdrive for long trips and highway driving If you are going to drive it local with only occasional highway trips - the turbo 350 is simple
Nothing wrong with the original suspension on a '46. I am guessing that you don't have an axle and a spring right? Most of the fellas use a 700R behind a small block I prefer the 200R if an OD must be had. The T350 will work well enough unless you are building mega torque in which case the 400 is a better option if you are not going with an automatic. If you want to go with a stick the high rollers are using TKO transmissions and the rest of us just use what we have like we have been doing for 40 or 50 years. LOL
