[Not sure how I screwed up my original post but here are a couple of pics of the shortened hood trim. I like the look but now have to fill-in 4 holess on the hood.
Some guys like the hood trim shortened to just a stub- Like you-I left mine long enough to line up with the front wheel which I find more astetically pleasing.-Good job! Filling the holes will be harder than making them-but small color -matched machine screws might be a temporary solution to fill them in.
