I like that slight rake it has now. I wouldn't lower the back without dropping the front some more. Has a cool shine runner look to it, I like it!

I like it. I agree with Automotive Stud re the lowering. I bought a 46 super deluxe coupe myself a few months ago. It has the same body shape. It's one of the nicest cars I've ever owned, drives really well. Ford had the transverse suspension well sorted by then. I'm sure you'll enjoy yours too. You did the right thing - not changing it too much.

    Kewl car......

Dropped front axle, cut the rear out & add some 16X33's steamrollers........or not.......

Clean that gem up & drive the wheels off it. A lowering - front & rear, WW's & red steelies....would do for now.

Thats a late 47 or 48. The 46/early 47 had red stripes on grill bars and verticle red strips on top grill moulding, different trunk moulding. The dash insturments are gold lettered on late 47/48, 46/early 47 are a red/orange over a grey background. If the steerning column has a lock and the off/on switch it is 47 or older. 48 has key switch in dash.

I am taking my early 47 back to www on steelies with 56 caddy caps.

I just saw a complete one of those cars in a salvage yard in Central Texas. Let me know if you need any parts, I'll see if I can help out.

Well its hard to believe one year has p***ed since i brought old Blackie home. I didnt get much time behind the wheel this summer but i think i'll be ready for this spring. I could list all that been done but the pictures tell the story. I know it has 47 front fenders but it is ***led as a 46??? It doesnt look like the fenders have ever been off  go figure.

I'll tell you what I told Kevin. Lowering shackles front and back. You can make them. All you need is a hack saw and a small file. 48 Merk. or early50s Ford truck 15" wheels reversed. You can do this too. Drill out the rivets. Knock out the centers. reverse them. Line them up with a drift. then weld them. Install www bias plys with tubes. When you get tired of the flathead bolt in a 265.

Looks great.....still. I hope mine comes out just as good.

Mine arrives in Jan. & already has the 4" dropped axle.....rear will be done as much as I can with air/4 link. Trans will be replaced with gm t5 & adding 1 carb to the flatty. WW & colored steelies will do. Disc/drum brake upgrade. Freshen up the insides & then drive, drive, drive......

    Keep us posted.

That looks great. Heres mine. A great driver. I just lowered it, wide whites, duel exhaust, ect. I had to put all new gl*** and seals/fuzzies in it, as well as I rebuilt the engine. I still dought I have over 4000.00 into it as it sits.
