Boy am I baffled. Took the dash out a year ago and am ready to re-install but...Cannot see the mounting holes on the driver's side of the cowling just the two small middle ones on both sides of the w/s wiper knob area. The dash has the requisite three slotted holes on each side
I have a baggie with 10 round head slotted screws marked "dash" but do not see the corresponding mounting holes for the other six screws. Also, are there supposed to be retaining clips or? on the backside of the cowel lip? Thanks for thinking on it.

  2. Do you mean the whole full width dash panel or just the gauge and chrome trim stuff ?

  6. That was my first thought.

Wow, that looks nice. Did your painter cover the holes with masking tape and then a few layers of paint ?
How about fitting the dash as best you can and then poking something in the problem holes. If you can,t reach them easily to just make a mark try a longer piece of thin rod or knitting needle with a small blob of paint on the end.

  7. There should be eight holes for the dash screws; kinda in line with the defrost vents. The screws are visible in the attached picture. Should also be screw holes for the garnish closer to the window opening.

Tim, Rich, et al, thanks for the guidance and your valuable time. Some time the obvious tends to obscure the facts.
I've been building chevy powered fat fenders since 1962 and this one had me stumped.
