Here's mine. 460 out of a 75 Lincoln. I bought this off of the HAMB cl***ifieds last winter and love the power. Tons of torque and plenty of power without too much money invested in the motor.

My 460 is serious hp and I love it in my truck. Planning on putting it in my 51 F1 after I beef up the front end with the C6 behind it. I wouldn't be worried about the A, you can figure it out. If you want to be fast it is a lot of speed for the money.

If you want to cruise around put a sbf in it great motor .If you want more tork and horse power than you need go BBF .I went BBC I had a 871 blower for a BBC was going to cost to much for a new intake manifold put the ford back for another project. My car weights 2700 lbs and is 50/50 pulled the motor back 5 inches from the front axle made a big difference on balance .And my car halls *** .My 2 Cents ...

BIG is all i have to say

  5. The 460 is a slug of a motor unless you throw fistfulls of money at them. For a while they were the motor of choice in Super Street racing here in Oz. They are big but who cares? With the power you can get out of one, you will be long gone before anyone sees it.
    Doc.

Interesting thread. Just finishing a '53 pickup w/ 460/tremec/9 inch. (it runs and drives, but needs a/c HEATer and defrost and some details)

Got the truck w/ a 390/C6 and thought the motor swap would be a piece of cake.
    haha.
Went w/ IFS and power steering. rebuilt one crossmember that had been ****d. reinforced another and built a whole new crossmember to replace one that had been cut out. w/ the new suspension crossmember it turned out to be a great final product. custom steering (duh).
The wt. differenc between a alum headed 460 and an all iron 302 is less than you might think.

    Have fun!
