I read recently that the spark plug location on 461 double hump heads limits the use of domed pistons. Has anyone had experience using domed pistons with 461 heads?

This thread has a comparison pic.
What combo are you planning? Do you have the heads yet?
I dont trust any 50+ year old head to be factory spec, could have been milled, angle milled etc along the way. Even year to year there could be enough casting differences to lead to inconsistent cc chambers. Check them over well.

As with any domed piston, interference with features in the chamber in any head can happen, and proper dome profiling and fitment should always be checked. So this isn't a 461 head issue solely, but all cylinder heads in general.

I'd only be concerned if you plan to use a 'projected' tip spark plug - which is what we prefer for street driven and modern 'gasoline'. Those heads could have seen some race induced improvements and its a good idea t clay it up, I had a set of 461X with about 14:1 and milled all to hell and gone without issues, I don't remember even having to index the plugs on that set.
