Does anyone know the thickness of the cab busings or rubber pad thickness on the 47-54 chevy trucks, mine are totally shot and gone and i am trying to mock up the front end and want an idea of how much to shim it up till mine arive thanks
Start with 1/4" but what you're really after is a measurement of 1 53/64" to 1 57/64" fron the bottom of the cab floor to the top of the frame rail. At the rear you want 1 43/64" to 1 47/64" from frame rail to rear cab support. Shim to get these right or your front end will look like **** when ***embled. Thanks that is what I was looking for, I didn’t want to have it looking like it was sagging in at the fenders of the truck I am getting the rear Shackle bushings too, they look like they are due for replacement after 50 years as a farm truck, I picked this up from my neighbor who had it sitting in his back yard for the past few years, he bought it from the original family that owned it and used it on a farm, and he bought it and brought it down to AZ from Iowa, he was tired of me asking him to sell it and he finally sold it to me last year Also, does anyone replace the rubber gaskets between the fenders when they put there trucks back together or do they just leave them out, i have a long way to go befor i tear it back apart for paint ,
