Customs 47-54 CHEVY TRUCK is Sid the only one doing DROP AXLES

    Sid is 2 months behind at the moment, is there anyone else dropping axles?
    or better yet selling the drop axle? so I can keep my original on my truck to shorten down time.

    speedway has one. it's not pretty, but it will get you there...

    Did you check with Sid? When I did mine he sent me a 3" dropped axle, then after I installed it, I sent my stock one back as a core.

    That is usually the quickest. Keeps the time the truck is torn down a lot shorter too.
    They also go though several steps to make sure that it is a paint it, bolt in and go axle that other shops may not do. Small shop with only a handful of people working rather than a big production shop.
    I'm not a fan of the Speedway axle even though you could probably have it in the garage by the end of the week. It just has a stuck together look that doesn't look right to me. http://www.speedwaymotors.com/1947-54-Chevy-GMC-Pickup-Dropped-Axle,5842.html

    Here's a pic of my stock axle alongside the new 3" axle from Sid. I used the box it came in to ship my stock one back to Sid.

    Thanks for the plug Brett but I just drop 28-48 wishbone type axles, I send everyone to Sid for parallel leaf drops.
