What do you guys use to treat old leather. Mine upholstery is real dry and I'd like to treat it with something to save it. Ter409
Murphy Oil Soap... Wipe the leather surface with a clean white towel or rag. This will remove surface dust, dirt or other contaminants that can interfere with the cleaning process. Mix Murphy Oil Soap and water. For general cleaning, two to three drops of Murphy Oil mixed into 2 cups of water should suffice. Dampen a rag or sponge in the oil-water mixture. Squeeze the rag or sponge thoroughly so that it does not soak the leather. Gently rub the rag across a small area of your leather. Work in one small section at a time so that the leather does not absorb the water. Dry each section with a clean towel as you proceed. Continue until the leather is completely clean. Also there is a ton of information on Google for this kind of thing...also Mink Oil is good but I don't think that's very nice...poor Minks...
what is that, a hearse or ambulance? I have the same dash in my 47 but I have never seen the "visor" over the speedometer before. Does it look added on?
That looks like a "pick up" conversion....I've seen alot of them and restored a Lasalle "Pickup". The La Salle must have been rear ended and they cut the body off behind the middle post and folded the roof to meet the post and welded it together....
1947 ambulance "Miller body" converted to a Pick-up. It has a storage box behind the rear window and a flatbed over the rear tires. The old farmer made a camper loader/unloader onto the flat bed. This was the LaGrande,Oregon ambulance for about 20 years and the farmer bought it from the city. It had 26,000 miles on it when he bought it and I got it from his estate with 29,000 miles. I just sold my 1955 Packard so I have the $$ to start on this project. I'll post a picture of the Packard I sold.Ter409
