Hot Rods 47 Chevy frame in a 40?

    Will my 47 Chevy coupe frame work on a 40 coupe? I am aware 41-47 are the same but from what I have read 40 is different. If it is different would any mods allow it to work?Thanks for any help.

    I think you're right about the 40. I was told the same thing from someone looking specifically for a 40 frame, I have a 39 Frame and he said there's some kind of differences -though I was never told what they are.
    Of course being a hot rod, you could make it work... I stretched my wheelbase 1 1/8" so that the rear wheels look like they're actually supposed to fit in the rear fender opening instead of too far forward. Worst case scenario the body bolt holes don't line up? There's a grinder and welder for that.

    No, not a fit. 1941-'48 cars/frame are much bigger.
    1940 Chevy is a year all by itself, not only frame, but hood, fenders, grill, etc..
