Hot Rods 47 Chevy passenger car steering box

    As you can see from the photo, the bearing outer is really badly pitted. I can find steering box rebuild kits, but they don't include this part. Does anyone stock them? Bear in mind I am in the UK, so it has to be someone who ships here. Thanks in advance.

    You need a sector shaft or pitman shaft, both the same thing, just different names. Lots of them on eBay, just not the correct year you need. You might have to see if you can make a good one using parts from another year. How does the worm gear look? It's the part this one runs against. With a good grease, those pits may not be a problem, its not like its a high speed spinning part.

    Thanks Joe, The worm gear isn't too bad. I can see what you are saying about it not being a high spinning part. I just wanted to change it if they were readily available.
