As far as I can tell Im missing the prefix on my VIN 47 Vin.jpg
I read this as 354153. You can see the star where the number should start. According to the list below the prefix should be 71GA. The DMV is decent to work with. Should I add the prefix numbers or try to register with 6 digits? Other thoughts? I dont have the trans. I would like to not pull the body looking for the numbers in the other locations.

I got this off Van Pelts website

Is the prefix on the ***le? Perhaps a dab of paint stripper to the frame there to see what shows up

You will need to s****e the paint off where the prefix is supposed to be.

Do NOT stamp your own number, or go without the prefix.

If you cannot find the prefix, you will need to confirm it from one of the other locations.

Stamping a number can get you into legal trouble.

If, say, you picked the prefix, and a different one is later exposed on the car elsewhere, you may, depending on the laws of your state, lose this car.

You need to work with your DMV then.
Legal issues such as ***les / VIN numbers work with your DMV.
    Hope it works for you.
