I posted a WTB on the cl***ifieds section, but its also a general question. I'm looking for a yoke that will fit a 47, 3 speed, open drive line transmission. 16 tooth spline. Is there a range of years that will work? Thanks, Mike
That was discussed previously somewhere, maybe Rodder's Roundtable and it was mentioned a Chevvie fit's it but need's slight machine work, maybe turned down?
Anyone know if a 56 Ford Truck yoke would fit the pictured 16 tooth shaft? The diameter of the shaft is about 1 3/16". Mike
OK, no answers yet...I haven't fooled with the truck parts at all, but certainly '42-47 would be the same, most likely '48-52 as well. If I were stuck on this, I would take the output shaft out and go visit the driveshaft rack at the junkyard to see if anything modernish matches up.
A friend has an 56 F-100 yoke that fits a 53 Flathead Truck trans. Is it safe to ***ume the 53 truck trans is similiar to the pictured trans? Mike
No--1952 was the last with the early Ford trans. Splines might have been kept, but that will have to be proven in the field.
Thanks for the help. My buddy and I have swapped digital caliper measurements. He test fit his 56 F-100 yoke on a 53 flathead truck trans. The 16 tooth shaft on that 53 truck trans has a diameter of 1.1775". Mine measures exactly the same. Hopefully we've found a match. Mike
