    what's your plans for it?

  4. Trucks make the very best daileys as far as I'm concerned, and al ol' Ford is the best of the best.

Keep it simple and functional, every one that is going to have a rod needs a parts hauler.

    Good place to start

I keep it simple, my plans are to safe the flathead for the 32 chassis i have waiting,
and drop a 383 sbc i have in it, for good mileage i go with a overdrive transmission.
9" Rear, Mustang II up front.

The Body is in pretty good shape, the floor and cabcorners got some rust, but no big deal.

I agree - old trucks are great! Last time I had my '47 Ford at Lowes picking up lumber - I had 3 or 4 guys stop and say I looked like a perfect Ford commercial. I said "yep, hauling lumber for over 60 years!!"

Hot Rod trucks are sorta perfect in that way - you get a cool ride PLUS you can haul crap with them too! Yours looks great - keep us updated!!

Ulrick, are those front fenders on your pickup the original pickup fenders, or are they off a larger truck? I'm kind of new to 42-47 Ford trucks, and have a lot to learn. I do know one thing, though --- I really like them!

  25. Looks pretty good, but I would suggest to add a little height over your rearend notch to make it stronger. Even boxing the inside, it it still much less strength because it is so short. You probably have some room above the bed, even 1 inch taller over the notch is a substantial improvement.

I used to drive a 37 Chevy truck as my daily driver and it was great. Still miss that truck, driving all over the place. Work, shows, junkyard, whatever. Had the same basic set-up you are running: Must II, 350 SBC, T350, and I had a 57 Chevy car rearend instead of the 9-inch you have.
