That wiring is unreal...you have my respect! Me and wiring don't get along too well.....

I'm working on my exhaust too....have about $100 into it so far. Not bad compared to what the exhaust shops charge....

Looks great... Tell me more about your electric shifter.... I still need to figure out how I'll shift an early 4L60E...

Hey Wetskier, take a look at my build thread on the 67-72 chevytrucks.com forum sub forum 47-59 chevy trucks, sub forum projects and builds, Loadmaster '47 COE Starting at post 153 I have a very detailed description of what I have come up with including a schematic of how it's wired and a demonstration video (****py) of it working. I have decided to make some small changes to that design which will make it much easier to build. Nothing against the H.A.M.B or it's members but I get a bit more feedback on that forum so I post more details on my build there.

The link is 67-72Chevytrucks.com and the wiring is incredible... That might be a bit beyond my skillset.. Ok, WAY beyond my skillset!

More progress, I built a alternator mount for the lower right side of the engine. I'm running the 4 rib belt normally used for the AC. I also built and installed a idler pulley for the main belt. After getting the new belt I was able to install both belts and adjust the tensions. Installed both PS hoses after I had a new pressure hose made. Started on the fuel lines, ran another hose for the coolant and installed a air filter/air pipe for the MAF sensor. The Air filter will end up end in a tool box mounted to the frame rail. The battery will be inside another tool box on the other rail.

You'd be a lot of fun to work with side-by-side in the garage. Good times! I'm swapping 5.3's in my 2007 Chevy Crew Cab 2WD today. What a pain in the ***!

OK, so I haven't posted in a while but I have been very busy on the truck. It's running great and I now have about 700 miles on it. I will be taking a week end road trip this week end to give it a good test.

What controls the stop points on the actuator?

My thumb, for the actuator I ended up using a simple 12V one with no position feed back. The blue light (added after the picture) next to the switch comes on when I'm in OD or drive, I just let up the switch when the light comes on and I'm in OD. If I want Drive I hold the switch until the light goes off them push it in the up position until it comes back on then I'm in drive. If I hold it in the up position it automatically stops at the end of stroke which is Park. Later this week I will figure out the ECU output for Reverse and add another light. The actuator only moves at 8 mm per second so it takes about 3 or 4 seconds to get into OD.
Put about 900 miles on it this past week end and it ran great. 18 MPG highway, also added a tool box to the left side with the other one on order.

Your truck is looking great and a continued inspiration to me! Any chance you know that answer to my last remaining dilemma wiring my 1999 LS1 ECM to my 1993 4L60E trans?

The trans pin T says "TCC Solenoid Switched GND".

ECM offers up: "TCC Enable Circuit"
    "TCC Control Solenoid"
    "TCC Brake Switch".

    Which one???

Let me take a look at some drawings, are you sure it's a '93 4L60E? I was thinking in '93 it would still be a 700R4.

Came out of a 1993 K1500 and says 4l60E on it. I think the year change was 1993 for trucks and later for cars to the 4L60e.

I appreciate any light you might shed on it... So far TCC Enable Circuit is out in front, but the votes are usually prefaced with "My best guess is...". I know the 1999 ECm will complain about no PWM solenoid that's found in later 4L60E models, but I think I can deal with that if I can wire the TCC correctly. Thanks! Rick

Hey Rick, Actually I would go with TCC control solenoid as the later models use Tan/black pin 42 as the switched ground to activate the TCC valve. What are the wire colors that you have now? What was wired to pin 42 of C-2?

900 miles on a relatively new and untested build...you have guts!!! But now that it is proven, cruise on over to Kansas and work on my truck (grin).

Yes, what I did is to cut 1 coil off one side and 3/4 of a coil off the other. I think that lowered the front about 2" which in my case was 1" to much. I will need to raise it 1" as I get a little tire rub when backing up at full lock. It still rides great with no bottoming out but I have also dragged the front bumper going in a couple of driveways. The road trip to Virginia was a test. Saturday I will leave on a 8 state road trip around 4000 or 5000 miles. I will be taking pictures at each state line.

Let's see here I'll be leaving for GA, FL, AL, MS, LA, TX, AR, TN. in a few minutes let's see here KS...nope no KS on the list, sorry. Bed is complete for now, even added an outside mirror. I think the serious work on this build is done. From this point there will be a lot of small things to detail and improve on but I can slow down a bit and maybe even take care of the other junk for a change.

OK so I should have used some sealer around the windshield, it leaks like a sieve, also I found I had not tightened the attached the wiper pivot set screws enough and my wipers decided go crazy in a heavy rainstorm in Florida. Hello RainX. Truck is running great. So when and where is the LSR? I will be in Taxas.

Rob, that is way cool. I had not caught up on your thread until today. I swapped a 5.3 into a 65 chevy and I got a harness from a local shop that hacks it up and does their magic on the computer. I was very surprised when it fired up and ran smooth after app 2 revs on the crank. I had cycled fuel pump before hand and also cranked it some with ign off to pump some oil through it and it did it's thing immediately. I am sold on the LS setups, I have one going it my brothers 40 1/2 ton and will probably stick one in my jeepster.

I think he is referring LSR to the Lone Star Roundup which is in Austin. Idk when, but I think mid to late summer.
