Looking good! Nothing like a good test drive to work out the bugs. Have fun on your trip.

Well, after looking at things we actually may be able to do the kick off BBQ, We'll see. Added a power converter for AC to power the laptop and an additional out let under the dash for phones, GPS etc...

Rolling on, "The Armadilla Killa", In Florida they have the retirees version of the Cadillac ranch in Texas, the Airstream ranch. Where old 2 ton Chevys go to die. In Louisiana now headed for headed for Marshall TX. and then the turn for up north. I did do a little work on the truck adding some lift spacers to the front coils for clearance, only got about 1/2" lift and need about another 1/2" but will wait on that, I also picked up an engine cover at a Pick a Part while in Mississippi for $13.

Been in Marshall TX for a couple of days now, why Marshall? why not! Picture 1 is what happens when your wiper linkage loosens up again. This is twice now this has happened and I hope it is the last. We went to a cruise-in in Marshall and saw a few neat rides. Tomorrow its off to Little Rock AK. for dinner with friends, then West Memphis to deposit some cash at the dog track.

Been working on adding air ride to the COE. Building my own cups and mounting the controls behind the speaker grill, also moving my under dash switches and lights to the same location.

A couple of updates: I built filler panels for the rear, installed new tail lights, air horns, finished the speaker grill mod., installed an engine driven compressor, riding on air now, installed the visor and basically just driving the snot outta the thing. over 30K miles now. I'm even getting a bit of work outta this thing. I still need to build some filler panels for the area in front of the rear tires.

Hi all, so if any of you have followed my build thread you know I put a few miles on my COE (over 36K now). Well it's that time again, I will leave Wednesday of next week and make a blast to Oklahoma for my daughter's wedding. A blast, as in 12 hours. From there it's up the road to southern Colorado (which is where the truck came from) and then to the Denver area. So that takes me to around Tuesday of the following week. From that point on I'm open to suggestions. What I'm looking for is cruise-ins or car or truck get together. If you want to take a good look at the COE and don't mind seeing a few bugs still attached to the front, just post whats going on in your area and if it's close to on my way I'll do my best to stop on by.

Love it. The front is just a play thing but the back does help when I'm loaded. I can load a ton on the back and still get a good ride. For the most part I leave the rear bags empty. Now one thing I would look into if your going to add air ride is an engine driven compressor. I run a old York 210 which puts out 10 CFM I can go from 0 PSI to 120 in under 1 minute. I run a 5 gallon air can for storage. Also run the largest bags you can fit on the front, I run 8" which gives a smooth ride.

Good to hear. I have a York 210 waiting in my parts pile. My brother had one on his old truck and made a clear lexan inspection plate to easily monitor oil.

With a wedding, doubt you'll have any time for any extracurricular visits. But if you're bored in okc give me a shout.

Ok, so day 1 was a long one. Started out at 6:00, got jammed in Atlanta, stopped for a picture in Alabama, and drove, drove, drove. 826 miles I arrived in Poteau OK. One sad thing: 13 hours on the interstate and saw zero old Chevy trucks rolling! Times on camera are incorrect. Day 2, parked and spending time with family.

How long is your bed? I like the proportions on your COE, but did see how long your bed is. I like it's length. It is just the right size to keep the commercial look and haul what it needs to!

Haven't updated this thread in awhile so here goes: some of the recent mods. I added AC a couple of months ago. Man has that been nice. I added an old steamer chest for a new engine cover. I swapped out the old Silverado seat for a '87 Chevy Astro seat in great condition. Later I will repaint the interior to a medium blue with a black rubber floor mat. I also got all my shift position lights working and corrected an over-travel issue with the shift arm. I have been driving the truck every day and on some long road trips so the mileage is starting to add up with just over 49K on the odometer. That is the best part about this truck, I really enjoy driving it. I have also been taking it to a few car shows lately and yep, I now have a few trophies.

I don't know if it is you became my rival or that you gave me a goal to shoot for! But 49K on a truck you built is really Kewl and it spurs me on to finish mine! THANKS!

OK, so some more changes for the truck: I pulled the wood off the bed and am working on installing a 11 ga. steel flatbed. I doing this because I need a slick top for the next major mod. Any guesses? Sheet 2 and 3 going on, I painted the underside of each sheet before install. Only about 100 more spot welds to grind. I will also need to build a new cover for the engine. 55K miles and counting.
