    Hi all,

Been a member for a while but I think this is my first post.

My bros. and I are reworking a 47 olds flat 6 out of my dads pride and joy he left to us a few years back. and a part I have not been able to find is the water distribution tube that slides in the block behind the water pump. Our has several holes rusted in it, some fairly large. I would really like to find one in better shape cause we plan on putting AC in it in the future and want the cooling system in good shape.

We thought about goin ahead and just put in a V8 but Dad would have never done it and it just wouldnt be the same car if we did.

    Any help would be appreciated!

That would be a flat head six. A flat six is like a Corvair or Porsche.

There are longer 8cyl tubes (31") that may be able to be shortened to suit? Not sure how the holes line up but I've seen them here before for 6cyl engines. What about Fusick?

    Here a shorter one (26 3/4") to suit a 6cyl engine.

Wow! Thanks for the quick replys!
Hadnt thought of looking for a straight eight tube. Looks like that could be cut down easily.

Check that the holes are the same. They are positioned to direct cooling water to the exhaust valve area and other critical points, as well as distribute coolant evenly the length of the engine.

From what I can tell from the pics I seen(not the greatest) it looks the same just longer. Guess I wont know for sure till I got one in my hands. Im sure I could add holes as needed and plug /restrict holes as needed to get a better match if need be.
