Wanting to put a big block with a stick in the 47. Would like to go with a 440, but what options for a manual trans? Thank you, C

I can't comment on the trans, but I can tell you a 383 big block with a 727 auto will fit in a 1950 Dodge Coronet. I currently have the motor in and am working out the steering with a cavalier rack. The big block fits in much better and lower than I ever though once you get the stock steering out of the way. Lot's of folks suggest running a small block for room so you dont need to remove the stock steering. Just lettin you know it can be done with some work. Best of luck!
