These are all the same car.. Im proud to say this one belongs to my buddy Johnny from the emperors car club in san bernardino CA. He got it about 2 years ago from a guy in the Gonners car club. He had to redo the chop to get it to flow better, and he added a 37 hudson? split rear window, so now I dont know how much it is actually chopped. The latest things he has done are adding the packard grill and he added a piece of angle steel to make the rockers smooth. Fabian from vintage hammer made him some full skirts (not shown in the pics) and they came out bad ass. He pulled the motor the other day, so it will be out of commisiion for a bit, but i know he is planning to put some 38 ford teardrop headlights. they will look killer. He's going for a late 40's custom look. I can pm you his info if you want to ask about the chop etc..
A buddy of mine is running a Camaro subframe in his '41 Plymouth. Niether of us had to mess with the firewall.
Thanks for postin that info ollin. I've loved that car ever since i first saw it online somewhere. SOunds like its gonna be bad ass when its done. Tell your bud to sign up on the hamb to keep us updated haha.
Good for you Sam59. Keep it all Mopar. I'll shoot you some pics. later of the engine in mine, and what it looks like at the present time. I just shot a few of it in the drive. 1st ones since it has been runnin. I need exhaust yet then I'm good. Get started on that car dude. It's gonna be a fun ride. Bryan
That's a beautiful car Dennis! That is what my car used to look like or was supposed to look like when it was new, until a gearhead like me got ahold of it. I like checkin out all the original stainless on these cars. I have some of the options on mine. Best of all is the clock (which is stuck on 5 o-clock). Here are some pics of how it is now. I just drove it out of the dog house Friday eve, with a smokey white cloud behind me. Thanks for the pic of yours........Bryan
Nice nice MoPars, I have an Dodge 3w business coupe from same era. Do you guys know if the body is same width between these two? I'm in need of front bumper, and one out of '49 Plymouth would be nice, if it fits.
that frame looks sweet man.. haha i got the '47 home last night and spent about 2 hours cleaning out the trunk of all the goodies! i was like a kid on christmas.. i got all of the stainless trim, emplems, everything! i'll take a picture of all of the stuff we found
Same here; you cant see it in the pictures but the blue car is full up to the windows with "goodies". When we hauled it home my daughter said,"The car looks cool but why did you keep all that old junk that's stuffed inside?" That's the rest of the car, dear......
Hey what up. Im the guy that owns the plymouth at question. Drop me a line if you want some info on the chop!
Looking for a stock L head 6, friends 37 Plymouth just lost an engine, was rebuilt, short block would be Ok. Thanks, STEVE flexmcgoo@aol.com
Here's a better pic of the new skirts. they look killer flush mounted! here's some of the packard grill going in..
Tim Adams over on trhe P15-D24.com forum has done two using Dodge Dakota pick up front clips. He has the dimensions for cutting both frames and reassembling details. If you go the the forum and click on his name his profile will appear along with his e- mail address.
yeah, a coupe. He pulled the motor out about a month ago to redo the steering box and paint the frame, and rebuild the motor and new motor mounts---so no new pictures, but he says he will be done for primer nats, i dont know.. but Im not gonna doubt him!
I know this is the wrong place for this, but what the heck. My son has a pair of useable front fenders, hood less hinges, and a pair of repairable doors for a 46-48 Plymouth club coupe. Repairs would be minor rust repair. These parts are very good for northerwestern IL, so keep that in mind. At this point we would like to see this stuff get used as compaired to being scrapped. Parts are in my garage in 61032 zip. Fenders-$50 each, buy both get hood, or hood $25. Doors $25 each. Might be some other small odd stuff here too. The car has been long gone for a few years. PM me. I will not respond on this tread. Gene
