I've considered the amount of stuff i have done to the car, i think im just going to reassemble it mount the body run electrical ect.... and make it drivable ( still need gas tank sealed & drive shaft made ) then work on the remaining body patches and stuff the majority of the metal work is at the corners of the rear fender wells and front section aswell as the new rocker skins i have to make so nothing is preventing me from reassembly and i think it will motivate me more hope everyone is doing good i have been in a slump past week or so so i have to kick my self to get back on it again
I thought I saw the drive shaft in place in one of your photos. Is the one you have going to work? (Too long/too short?)
2 1/2" SHORT and i have a long yoke but dont want it hanging out too much too scared so i tac welded this one that i extended to get the correct length and take it to a shop to be remade and i scored a brand new gas tank from a buddy for $20 so i have to get the new filler neck added to that one too il use my old one as mock up it was very rusty and thin i had a hard time trying to weld it the slightest tac would burn thru so tomorrow i will try to remove the dash and undercoat the firewall from inside and sling the wires in there after i finish the steering wheel support bracket i made earlier i also got to get a battery i punctured a hole in mine oops damn screw on the floor i did have a problem with the exhaust i cut the bolt to the y pipe because i had to drop it to change the starter now i can't get the bolts out of the flanges they are soooo rusty i heated them up with map gas but still stuck i might have to leave it open exhaust till i can drive it to a shop im scared to unbolt the exhaust manifold and break a bolt in the block but open exhaust sound bad ass i can't wait to build a traditional hot rod with some nice headers
Joel, I just spent an hour or so to go thru your build. Awesome is a word I don't use too much, but it sure fits your efforts on the old Plymouth. Keep the faith dude!
worked on the inner firewall yesterday removed the dash and heater cleaned up patched some small holes and seal coated it i have to look into changing the heater motor to a 12v motor or maybe just run this one on 12v with a ballist resitor (any input would be great) i have to save up for the gauges so i don't know if im going to put the dash back in yet and strip one of my extra ones and paint it up we will see as the days go by since its drying now i think il be throwing the harness in permanently
got the wiring under the dash installed and reinstalled the radiator and tried to run it the battery was giving me trouble again and now i think i fried the starter it got really hot and started to smoke so today was a shitty day i know i dont have major problems like the guys who's cars are stolen so i guess il work on it another day time to leave it alone again
ok with a lot of measuring i made the front cups that attach the airbags too and installed them, connected the new lines i ran to the back <object width="400" height="300"> <embed src="http://www.facebook.com/v/167752929917058" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="400" height="300"></object>
