  5. Joel, I just read through the entire post - took 2 days during my "break time" at work - and I have to just repeat what many have said - you are an inspiration. It's mind boggling what you've done with all of the distractions like work, house, family, and a new little one coming along. Having been a LI boy myself for 45 years of my life, I know what you are up against working outside - it's not the worst place to work outside but it is sure not the easiest thing to do and clean up every night. Jeesh, all other problems with guys and their cars seem insignificant now having read this thread.

Keep at it, as I know you will, and I hope to meet you some day so I can shake your hand and check out your ride in person.

First off congrats again on the babe! OK down to buisness I've got a plan of using my 2 extra 3rd brake lights as actual brake lights. My current configuration uses the old school bulbs all 12v of course. I was thinking off just making new brackets to mount them with the old bulbs, but I like your LED set up primarily because they are so bright i would feel nice and safe! I was wondering if you think the regular bulbs would light up the ship pattern better than the LED's? Also how much work was it and do you have any pics of the back of your lights, I'm not bad with wirring but that looked a little intimidating you had like 15 LED's in there, and how did you fix them in place. By the way the whole set up looks nice!

ok for the third brake light i used sloan l.e.d.s they have sticky tape on the back so i cut piece of thin plexi from a cd cover the shape of the back and stuck them on
now to get the different brightness for reg and brake light i used white for regular and red for brake light it is as bright as the new caddy's now the l.e.d.s i use are from what we install in signs that go in times square but i noticed auto part stores sell l.e.d. kits and you can adapt them inside your light
nate did you see the videos on my facebook page

yeah i don't just jump under the car it's actually resting on stands and ramps and is perfectly level

here's the more beefy mount for the radiator before i capped the end and painted it

now that the nose is stiff i wanted more attachment points the the frame so i removed the complete grill and took out the lower fender bracket that's buried this bracket is factory and basically bolts at the bottom of the front fenders and the lower part of the hood latch mechanism so i added two mounting tabs and welded it to my support bar i installed
    [IMG]
here you can see the bar still attached its the rusty one
