Joel, I just read through the entire post - took 2 days during my "break time" at work - and I have to just repeat what many have said - you are an inspiration. It's mind boggling what you've done with all of the distractions like work, house, family, and a new little one coming along. Having been a LI boy myself for 45 years of my life, I know what you are up against working outside - it's not the worst place to work outside but it is sure not the easiest thing to do and clean up every night. Jeesh, all other problems with guys and their cars seem insignificant now having read this thread. Keep at it, as I know you will, and I hope to meet you some day so I can shake your hand and check out your ride in person.
Congratulations to you and your wife, brother. Holy cow, he is so small. Fantastic. All the best to your family for happiness always.
the new one whispered in my ear he wants a 32 ford so we'll see thanks guys as soon as the weather warms up im diving into the 47
once you get driving on 95 just go south until you get to exit 187 in florida so u can help me work on mine!
Hey Joel, congrats on the new baby! I hear my three boys whisper there car wants all the time as well. Now i just need my wife to believe me. Lol!
First off congrats again on the babe! OK down to buisness I've got a plan of using my 2 extra 3rd brake lights as actual brake lights. My current configuration uses the old school bulbs all 12v of course. I was thinking off just making new brackets to mount them with the old bulbs, but I like your LED set up primarily because they are so bright i would feel nice and safe! I was wondering if you think the regular bulbs would light up the ship pattern better than the LED's? Also how much work was it and do you have any pics of the back of your lights, I'm not bad with wirring but that looked a little intimidating you had like 15 LED's in there, and how did you fix them in place. By the way the whole set up looks nice!
ok for the third brake light i used sloan l.e.d.s they have sticky tape on the back so i cut piece of thin plexi from a cd cover the shape of the back and stuck them on now to get the different brightness for reg and brake light i used white for regular and red for brake light it is as bright as the new caddy's now the l.e.d.s i use are from what we install in signs that go in times square but i noticed auto part stores sell l.e.d. kits and you can adapt them inside your light nate did you see the videos on my facebook page
Yep got em man...Thats about what I needed to know I saw what you were talking about with the bulbs from autozone too. thanks man
Great pics, thanks for sharing your build. Congrats on the new addition, hope mommy and baby are both doing very well. I am also on the Island, need some help....don't hesitate to ask...
thanks sir ely mom and jayden are doing 100% he's such a good baby i think im off tomorrow so i will work on cars and try to get motivated anyone who wants to drop by is more then welcome shoot me a private message my house is super easy to get too I WILL NOT BE HOME GOT CALLED INTO WORK CHA CHING
getting ready to get busy on the 47 today i started yesterday briefly putting the nose on and trying to align it which is kinda tough to do im trying to motivate myself and get it done
got the bumper on yesterday in the rain now i can see if the nose is centered and start to work on some clearance issues on stupid stuff hopefully i start knocking out the small fab list i have left to do so i can start the body patching
oh yeahhh i removed the orig radiator bracket i fabricated and redesigned it better and stronger now everything is bolted up and tight like a tiger i feel at ease it not like the whole nose of the car rest on this one bracket oh wait...... it does too tired to even take pics so you'll have to wait till tomorrow hope everyone enjoys this weekend whether it ends early or not lol
Take care with the rain and the jacks .... Probably needless to say , but a car falling on me is one of my nightmares .
yeah i don't just jump under the car it's actually resting on stands and ramps and is perfectly level here's the more beefy mount for the radiator before i capped the end and painted it now that the nose is stiff i wanted more attachment points the the frame so i removed the complete grill and took out the lower fender bracket that's buried this bracket is factory and basically bolts at the bottom of the front fenders and the lower part of the hood latch mechanism so i added two mounting tabs and welded it to my support bar i installed here you can see the bar still attached its the rusty one
as of today my project is going to stop for awhile i have somethings to take care of i wont be logging on here for awhile take care everyone
