    yeah it sucks
i cleaned the car yesterday have to buy a new grinder mine died lol
i have to focus on the interior fabrication and leave the body patching to the experts cause me fucking up the body more isn't going to help so when the baby's asleep il put the monitor on and go outside and see what i can mess with hope everyone is doing good i need a local body guy who could do one part at a time for me ( door, trunk, fender)

Jeez, Joel, and what would be wrong with that body work? It looks mint. Nice job.

  8. Joel,
Thats a hard core project! Love it! Keep us posted. Ya got a place inside to work on it this winter? I know it gets colder up there on Long Island than it does here in OK. Good luck man.....

here is the last MAJOR body repair i have to do then i can try to repair the doors and everthing else and finish it
this is the passenger "A" pillar that i need to cut out and replace the skin i might just place the new one over it and weld it in place so not to lose strength no one will know and i think i can make it work if not i would have to graft this in place its dented in so i think i have room to go ontop
    the replacement

    Me too.

You can put that a-pillar piece over the other one as long as you are sure you have stopped the rust on the underneath part - maybe wire brush it off and hit it with rust converter front & rear.

thanks again and brain i like that color thats sweet
    cut both sections out
    [IMG]
now i left some extra metal on the car so i can attach to it i have to gring clean the work area and fitthe new piece in place
the new panel is thinner then the metal of the body along the edge the door closes on so i left a strip of the donor body one the edge and grinded it down so now i have a place to spot weld too if that makes any sense to ya

i think im going to need professional help with the lower sections of the doors but here you can see the top of the patch with some of the weld grinded down and door in place to check alignment
    [IMG]
heres how it would look if i just grindedsome of the weld down and door gap looks good
    [IMG]
a better view of the door clearance
