Good morning guys, enjoying a cup of brew and looking through the threads...just wondering if there is/are any groups featuring Ford sedan deliveries From what I read (not much there), they were made in 1/2 ton sedan deliveries and a 1 ton on a larger frame. I have the smaller version and would like to kind of value the thing. I have no idea of its worth, but it has a small block GM and th350 trans. Of course, the previous owner (a trade) claims it to be worth more than I do. Just trying to feel out the market and decide if I want to invest some time/money into the car. Thanks for any suggestions/directions, Tony
...Well said, Jason. There's no way anyone could even begin to put a value on it without pictures. And by the way, the larger version is a Panel Delivery.
Both the panel truck and the sedan delivery are kind of a niche market, sometimes not worth as much as the car version or other times worth more. The '47 Ford in this case I would say both are worth less then the coupe version. But like said about need pictures.
more or less than this one https://www.streetsidecl***ics.com/vehicles/6147-atl/1947-ford-panel-delivery
There is often some confusion with this subject fellow hamr'z. So I will try to help The Sedan Delivery is based on the 4-door sedan of the day. Giving up the front sheet metal and front doors. 1st two pix are 46-48 Ford Sedan deliveries. The next to pictures are often referred to as "Panel Trucks" based strickily on Truck ch***is and components. They came from 1/2 to 1 & 1/2. Two wheel bases. Note the Factory Dooley 38/39 Ton and 1/2 above. The confusion comes directly from Ford's sale literature. Ford calls the p***enger car based vehicles "Sedan Deliveries" while the truck literature refers the "Panel Deliveries". Myself the p***enger car based are the C-Dan Deliveries and I call the truck based "Panel Trucks"...It doesn't help when we hamr'z swap p***enger car front sheet metal on the trucks just for fun to just muddy the waters...
THATS A TOUGH MKT TO SELL INTO. I have a nice restorable 39 of the panel truck version and have had it for sale for 9500......... for about 7 yrs. no takers. just sayin- for a friend...............
