do you have a closer pics of the carbs set up?

  3. I wish I had that 4-deuce manifold - I like the off-set, but standard mounting setup! It reminds me of the 6-deuce 6-71 manifold that Savage is repopping.

Great looking motors and love your set-up. I would like to put a eyeball on your setup and pick your brain a bit. Sorry that you and Mel couldn't come up for a shop tour if that's what you can call my junk. Yea I had planned on driving the 32 to the pile-up with the 471 but not sure if the Blower will be on her yet. Are you driving up with Mel and Aaron? I like to wake them up in the morning:Dnot under boost conditions and they like that. at 5 or 6 PSI of boost it should run fine you will need a good flowing exhaust and a cam change would be a good idea too mine is pretty detuned but very streetable and gets about 17 MPG I drive it all over the midwest with no problems so far

On a side note I was gonna come up with Mel a couple weeks ago so I could meet you but our plans got changed and I couldnt make it I'll look for you at the HCP

I see them pop up every couple years or so, it's a Cragar intake and drive. I got lucky when putting this car together and found the blower intake and complete drive that had been sitting for 35 years from a guy in the midwest.

The one on the slant six belongs to me.
I've been running it for the last 8 years with a 10% overdrive on the street. I can put 15 pounds of boost on it, but I will be doing some minor maintenance after that.
Running one v-belt with two belt tensioners on it.
Make sure that you install some sort of "sneeze" plate or you will end up with a nasty mess after the first backfire through the blower. Mine is real simple--I have a small aluminum plate with two holes drilled in it, have a hole smaller than it cut in the manifold, two bolts with valve springs holding the plate on. I have a gasket glued to the back of the plate, and if it backfires, the springs compress and take the bang out of the backfire. It will reseat and you can fire the motor and drive away.
Once you figure out the timing, you should never have to worry about a backfire unless something freaky happens.
About retarding the timing, one trick that I used was to hook the va***n to the distributor to the manifold so that when it starts making boost, the distributor no longer advances as far. I also run a water injection unit on mine and anything above 10 pounds of boost, I hit the switch for it to come on.
It is not rocket science, but it takes a lot of fine tuning to get it to work like you want it to.
    Robert.

I'm running one on my 383" sbc. Any of the blower shops can provide a belt. I bought a 3" belt, they cut it in half to work on my 1.5" geared drive. Now I have a spare. I get 8lbs of boost. Don't try it without forged pistons. What Russco and Bored and Stroked said just about covers it.
