48-53 chevy pickup bed dimensions

    Hey guys, I need to get some dimensions of a 48-53 chevy pickup bed. Can any one help me out. I cant do anything on my truck untill I get this.

    50 inches wide... 78 inches long

    Are these inside dimensions or outside? I'd like to know too. I'm shortening my 1 ton bed(It's like 9 or 10 feet long now).

    Not sure if the side to side should be inside or outside. Does that 1/8" matter that much? The 78" is the length of the bedside.

    Thank you. It looks like if I cut my bed sides in front of the second stake pocket and move the front bed panel back to there, my bed sides will be 79 1/2". That will be close to the stock dimensions for a short 1/2 ton bed.
