Looking good, I look forward to see how you do the back window, big Cads chopped just kick ass............
I really like some of the work that you do. Please keep the updates coming this going to be another really nice car from your shop. Are you guys still trying to make the Grand National show with the 40 merc?
THAT is gonna be killer...lookin' good... R- Seen my '55 Caddy build: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=329070&highlight=the+best+55+caddy+build
Sweet. I like how you strengthened the B pillar. It looks clean, like it is supposed to be there. Is the angled piece at the rear of the rear door opening serving a purpose, or just for aesthetics?
the 40 Merc will be at the show. it's at the interior shop as we speak. the Cad is bagged all around with Shockwaves. just for aesthetics on the rear door. yes it's a Stanford rendering.
Look how long the rear door glass would have to be if that notch weren't there. My guess is that notch effectively shortens the length that the door glass has to be and will allow it to roll all the way down without hitting the rear wheel house. Lots of mid 50's 4 door hardtops had something similar, it's actually quite clever to incorporate it into the build. Looks real good, looks like a nice car to start with too.
Damn! I would have thought "hardly worth the effort" about a major custom effort on a '48 Cad 4door, but Steve Stanford is a magician at making silk purses from sows' ears. I'll be eager to see the final result!
