Been reading on this forum for quite a while and finally decided to register and post up a question.

I got myself a 48 chevy 6400 that i imported from the USA last year. It's having a major overhaul.

I am putting modern suspension/axle under it etc and I decided on air suspension.

I am planning on using the leaf spring that came with the new(used) rear axle as a suspension arm and then make a triangulated top link so it becomes sorta a 3 link setup

I have the axle in place and the springs cut so i can see what's what and thought I would post up here to see what you guys think

spring in place (will be made double shear)

I am going to mount a pair of air bags I got from a semi truck trailer and mount them where the shocks brackets were.

Top link is going to be constructed using a M20 Hi load heim joint and 2" tubing

For some reason floating round in my head, I can't make my mind up if the cut down springs will be strong enough in their new role as suspension arms.
