ive got a 1948 dodge coupe with a fluid drive trans. its makin a weird noise. like metalic scraping when the clutch is out coasting down hill.does any one know whats up with it?
Check your u-joints............I think you have the "pot" type, also called "cross and trunnion", I believe, and I seem to recall such a noise from 'back in the day'. I, of course, may be way off base here...........but checking it out can't hurt Ray
I just became the owner of one of these fine rides myself as of last week. I'm sending you a friend request. I can use your support when I run into trouble too
You may want to take alook at the first thing on this list: http://www.merc583.addr.com/mopar/framesets/potholeframeset.html Is this what you were talking about?
Ive heard of the bendix issue before... Id check the ujoints also if you get a chance... remember about every 1k miles you have to grease almost everything... Id check your trans gear fluid level and if you get a chance and feeling frisky change the fluid drive fluid.. makes a ton of difference...
