I text fitted the hood on my 1948 Dodge coupe and don’t see how it's supposed to latch. I think there's probably some parts missing from the hood. Here’s a couple of pics, anyone got any shots of a complete working setup? 273B88BA-DDE7-4AA8-A668-FA6B7D8898CD.jpeg C76F6963-8013-4D6B-BBC4-6FA0B356F5FE.jpeg
The close up pic shows a notch that the latch on the car fits into - I think there should probably be a bar of some sort for the latch to grab?

A couple of other questions - the hood braces are just bolted to the outer skin - is that how they were originally attached?

Has anyone converted the hood on a '46-48 Dodge to one piece, either lift off or hinged?

Thanks, so the latch just clamps directly on the edge of the hood?

I don't know about Dodge, but Plymouth went to a one piece hood (really two pieces bolted together in the middle, so they still leak on your sparkplugs when it rains) for '48.
Hinges and latches should be readily adaptable, since they are such similar cars.
