48 merc stuff...

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Nixer, May 18, 2004.

  1. hey guys...

need some advice...my ears are open...
are parts for a 48 mercury worth much? consider them in showroom condition off a show-car, trailer queen..
The parts in question here are wheel parts..
stock trim rings, full set 3 ribs, ??
Stock set of hubcaps that say mercury on them..again..purfect condition..??
and a stock set of 5 yes 5 rims, completely painted stock color with the period perfect two pinstripes on them..??

    Any words are greatly appreciated...

I think if you listed that stuff on the ford barn site or in hemmings , they would be an easy sell. any trim items or is this it ?. i'm selling my xtra 46-8 merc. parts all the time. get calls all the time also, so you should not have a problem selling.

i need some stainless for my 48 merc 4-door. somebody put a right side front fender trim on the left front fender with a purswaysion tool (hammer). so i b looking for the left front fender stainless, also the body stainless behind the rear doors and the short cowl trim. any leads would be helpful.

If they are correct for the Mercury, I believe they should be 15" and not 16". The 15"ers are harder to find. If the wheel color is a nice contrast for the paint job, lots of guys would like the pinsriped wheels. They like to "patina-ize" them.
