Looking for opinions on some front stub options for a 48 Olds. Basically looking for something that has close to the same rail width and track width. I know a caprice rear end is about the same, which has me wondering if the front stub would be an option. Thanks in advance guys.

I have a '93 Impala front frame stub under my '48 Pontiac convert. The up side is you get the big rotors, 5 on 5 bolt pattern hubs, and the frame width is right. Down side is the track is wider, but it looks OK on these cars I think. Your radiator collar will interfere with the steering box, but a little notch fixed that for mine, and I moved the rad. back to the rear of the collar, lots of room ahead of the LT1. What about the camaro/ nova stub(been used for years)? I know they are to wide on late 30s cars but a 48 olds has to be a lot wider.

Brian will the tire kiss the fender or is there room to tuck inside the wheel well? Kind of hard to tell in the photos.

The guy who bought my 48 Pontiac had it subframed with a rear-steer nova. I drove the car after it was all done and I got 48pontiacrockys.jpg ta say........it drove really nice compared to the way it drove before with cut coils.

Sorry fellas, we don't cover modern frame clips/IFS swaps on the main boards.

Might want to check out the social groups...
