Who are some good suppliers of parts to a 1948 Olds model 78? We're needing things like a water pump, parking brake cable, window crank, badging letters, wheel cylinders, spotlight, and other miscellaneous parts. We got the family car out for the first time in 29 years. 20250309_192948.jpg

I'd try Fusick. They know their Oldsmobiles.

Oldsmobile Obsolete for NOS and used stuff. Always eBay if you are patient and know part numbers to help with searches so you don't get 3000 listings for honda parts when you type in Oldsmobile.

I agree fully, but here's a tip. If you type into ebay "1948 Oldsmobile window crank" in the search, you get 2100 results, with the first one being some aftermarket power window setup. But if you type in "1948 Oldsmobile window crank -Ford", you get 46 results, and it's almost all actual GM window cranks. If you can't exclude a make like Ford, you can exclude a 4 digit year, like 1969, or a common keyword like console or wheel. If you want to exclude multiple words, you'd do "1948 Oldsmobile window crank -1969 -Ford" or something like that, really helps narrow it down.

That's the minus sign in front of the word by the way, the font here makes it look a little odd.

This is excellent advice. I just used the search “1954 1955 1956 Oldsmobile fender -ford -dodge” to find fender braces for my 55 that have been elusive. 54-56 are all applicable years, and not everyone lists all. For example, the parts I got came out of a 54. Therefore, only “1954” dragged it up. “-ford -dodge” definitely helped reduce listings for curb feelers, comp***es, and other generic **** from the results.

    Thanks for the tip.
