Kanter Auto Parts has front end parts etc.. Don't have the number, you'll have to do a search or get a copy of Hemmings Motor News.

I believe most GM front end parts will not interchange for '48. Kanter is an excellent source for front end parts.

Good luck on disc kit. I tried a long time and ended up putting a fat man stub on mine. Fred Groeske makes adapters to change your bolt pattern...excellent quality stuff and super guy to work with as well as fast delivery.

Is it like this, F/E in my 'B' bodied 46 Olds. Spring pockets are built into the rails with shock absorber built into top A-arm?. Rebuild kits area available, king pins, idler arms, drag links and bushes etc.
No kits are available to upgrade front suspension so I removed the front end and replaced with new 'C' channel to allow a later IFS to fit. A bit of work involved. If it were an 'A' bodied Chev with top hat style chassis, F/E can be easily removed and replaced.

Also check Master Power Brakes for a disc brake conversion. I had them do mine and it works great.
